Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with Tim Holtz!!! These are a few Christmas Tags I created using Tim's BluePrint Stamp, black tags & Perfect Pearls which was my sisters idea that she had to convince me to try & yet again Caroline was right!!! The look is super duper cute & shiny!!!  Of course one was embossed although I love the Shimmer of the Pearl so much better!!!

Have a great day!!!

Where Did the Time Go...

I work at the Days Inn & Suites in Thunder Bay, ON it's the best place I have ever worked, mainly due to its incredible owner & general manager. I had told one of our regular guests that I could never imagine working for any one but Kevin & proclaimed how much I loved my job & the people I work for, so you can imagine my surprise when I found out the hotel was sold to new owners.  The new owners take over on July 2nd, it will be odd not working for & with Kevin anymore although I look forward to seeing where the year will take us!!

Anyway I knew I wanted to create a book type of card so that people could write a good bye and not just a small blurb, I got this idea from Jenn's blog as I had seen her do many a retirement card for coworkers.  I used some of my Tim Holtz stash in order to give my card the prefect look I was going for.

I used my Tim Holtz time pieces embossing folder on a piece of shattered paper, also chit chat stickers, gears, tissue tape, sticky letters & a metal timepiece.  The letters WWKD stand for what would Kevin do, which was something I would say to myself as I try to figure out the best way to deal with issues at the hotel.

Inside the card I used a Creative Time stitched tag & stamp some phrases in Gathered Twigs distress stain.

I love how this card turn out & when his daughter told me that is was so her dad, I teared up & knew that it was prefect!!

I'm going to not only miss seeing Kevin everyday but his whole family since after working together for over seven years you create bonds that are not easily broken or forgotten.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Christmas 2013!

Merry Christmas!!!

This is a sample of my Christmas card I made last year.  I have totally loved this snowman stamp by Penny Black since my sister Caroline first bought it!!!  It's stamped on Tim Holtz water paper & coloured with Tim Holtz water markers & then outlined with my Wink of Stella pen to add some glitter!!!... I LOVE these pens!!!

The paper is DoodleBug and those of you who know me, know that my addiction to Doodlebug is just as strong as my addiction to Tim Holtz... well almost as strong!! :)

Take Care,
Stephanie

Congratulations Erika & Matthew!!!

One of my best friends just got engaged on Monday.... FINALLY!!!!!! My husband Chris introduced them & we are both very excited that they made it official!!

This is the card I made for Erika from all of us at work.  I chose purple since it's her favourite colour & used my Cricut to cut out the phrase with my Storybook cartridge, the middle say A Wish Came True... (Erika has been dreaming about this for a while and to quote Disney a dream is just a wish your heart makes)  The little heart background is a cricut cut from the Artiste cartridge.  I used my Wink of Stella sparkle pen to add a little glimmer to the heart, I love that pen it's adds just the right amount where you want it.

Anyway... She LOVED it!!!!

Hope to post again soon!

Star Wars Card

I made this card for one of my best friends who found a new job. Both her & I have an obsession with Star Wars, so I had to make her a Star Wars card. Truth be told finding Star Wars stamps is not easy although I found these stickers in Michael's and they could not be more perfect cause not only are they Star Wars but they are also LEGO!!!! WOOHOO!!!!

I found the paper at a local scrapbooking store in Minneapolis on one of our many adventures to Scrapfest and of course I had to have it.

I'm super happy with the result and am totally in love with the Lego Star Wars stickers.

Thanks for stopping by & May the Force be with you!!!

Happy Birthday Caroline!!

Here's the birthday tag I created for my sister & bestest friend Caroline!!

As you can tell I'm continuing with my Tim Holtz craze!! :)

For Caroline's tag I only used my Picked Raspberry Distress Ink pad, I have the stain somewhere (time to reorganize my scrapbooking room) but the ink pad was just as good. The effect on the tag is created by rubbing the ink pad all over the tag & then spray water on it while drying it with my heat tool, I'm obsessed with the look & effect :) The cupcake is from Tim's blueprint collection, the sparkle was created with glamour dust... also from my Tim Holtz collection is the metal plate & glass fragment.

The effect on the glass fragment is from stamping with versa mark & then using holograph embossing powder and a wee bit if heat to make the little present pop... I LOVE the effect!!

Then I used some twine & crinkle ribbon dyed picked raspberry of course to finish it up.

I'm really happy with the result & Caroline was too!!

Thanks for visiting & take care :)

Happy Birthday Hunny Bunny!!

Here is the Birthday Tag I created for my husband Chris, using my Tim Holtz stash once again... This time I used one of the birthday blueprint stamps, coloured with my Tim Holtz markers, it was really dark, then my sister Caroline reminded me that they are water colour markers so I added some water and super happy. The top of the cupcake has fine glamour dust glitter on it, cause ya gotta have a bit of sparkle.. :)

The tag is coloured with Tumbled Glass, Faded Blue Jeans & Broken China Distress Stains helped out with some water and the edges are distressed. I used musical note tissue tape for the ribbon, one of my game pieces with 35 on it since that's what he will be & then I added a wish tag to finish it up nicely.
I'm liking my Tim Holtz collection & have lots of ideas how to use it now.

Happy Valentine's Day Tag

I think most of my followers know that I'm slightly obsessed with the amazing Tim Holtz & all of his products which started when I took one of his classes @ Scrapfest. So needless to say I have with the thanks of Caroline I have quite a lot of his products, stamps, tags, tools.... need I go on.

Anyway I was scrapbooking with friends on Sunday and decided that all I was bringing was my Tim Holtz stuff and I was going to finally use them to make some fabulous tags!! Tim has his 12 tags for 2013 challenges/tutorials so I thought what better way to learn to use my collection better and make a cute tag for my husband Christopher.

My sister Caroline & my good friend Lee-Ann suggested I make it in to a card so I hmmm and haaaa about it and then since my sister is always right I decided what the heck and couldn't be happier!! Lee-Ann lent me her beautiful falling hearts embossing folder & it came together beautifully. I'm super excited about it & hope my Hunny Bunny is too!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday Emma!!!

As you can tell I kinda love Bunnies and Lily of the Valley makes the most wonderful bunny stamps there has ever been... I had made this for my niece Emma.

The Bunnies were coloured with copices and the papers is Doodlebugs mini print & Kraft paper.
And the Butterfly punch is EK Success.

I'm entering this in the Paper Sundaes Challenge #117 - Let's Get Cute.

Have a great day!!

Happy Birthday Caroline

This is the card I made for Caroline's Birthday, I used BoBunny's Sweet Tooth paper line & cut out this adorable cat with my Cricut & attached it with an Action Wobble so it makes it extra adorable.  I think it would have been better with maybe a couple buttons although very happy with the results.

Hope you have a great day!!

Here is the card I made for Christopher for our First Anniversary, I used a few of the tricks I learnt at Scrapfest!! This picture is one of Chris's favourites so I decided to use it. The metals gems were attached using the i-Rock which i must say is a now a new favourite tool.

Wedding Card

When my co-worker asked me to create a wedding I reluctantly said yes... I never knew how difficult it was to make a card for someone else to give away... much harder than I thought.... yet I loved how it turned out and my co-worker did as well.
The theme of the wedding was black & white so I found this incredible paper at my LSS DAT'S and knew that I had to use this adorable bride and groom from LOTV as well as the sentiment stamped and placed and framed using Eyelet Circles Nestabilities. I coloured the image with copics and added some glitter with Angel Dust. The inside sentiment is my most favourite sentiment ever from Stampin'UP. The white lace ribbon was suggested by my sister Caroline... we both knew it was missing something and I couldn't figure out what it was by myself so I asked Caroline for her input and as always she was right and I thank her for it.
Hope you like it & that everyone is enjoying the summer!!
Love, Stephanie
