Where Did the Time Go...

I work at the Days Inn & Suites in Thunder Bay, ON it's the best place I have ever worked, mainly due to its incredible owner & general manager. I had told one of our regular guests that I could never imagine working for any one but Kevin & proclaimed how much I loved my job & the people I work for, so you can imagine my surprise when I found out the hotel was sold to new owners.  The new owners take over on July 2nd, it will be odd not working for & with Kevin anymore although I look forward to seeing where the year will take us!!

Anyway I knew I wanted to create a book type of card so that people could write a good bye and not just a small blurb, I got this idea from Jenn's blog as I had seen her do many a retirement card for coworkers.  I used some of my Tim Holtz stash in order to give my card the prefect look I was going for.

I used my Tim Holtz time pieces embossing folder on a piece of shattered paper, also chit chat stickers, gears, tissue tape, sticky letters & a metal timepiece.  The letters WWKD stand for what would Kevin do, which was something I would say to myself as I try to figure out the best way to deal with issues at the hotel.

Inside the card I used a Creative Time stitched tag & stamp some phrases in Gathered Twigs distress stain.

I love how this card turn out & when his daughter told me that is was so her dad, I teared up & knew that it was prefect!!

I'm going to not only miss seeing Kevin everyday but his whole family since after working together for over seven years you create bonds that are not easily broken or forgotten.

Thanks for stopping by!!
Love, Stephanie
